Comics Art

Here's a blast from the past: two comic books I "revised" as a kid back in 1966.

The Donald Duck comic features the pasted-on heads (I think from Time magazine) of Joe Namath, Ted Kennedy, and who is that? Leonard Bernstein? Morley Safer? I don't think so. Any guesses?

On the right, Khrushchev tugs on Daisy Mae's hair while trying to escape a herd of giant ants.

  1. I think Bernstein, although I couldn't find that exact photo. The nose is wrong for Safer. I know you're questioning whether either is correct, but I still think Bernstein... I named a cat Theodora in honor of Ted Kennedy, adopted her the week he died. I call her Theo when she's not being a nuisance, so usually it's Theodora. I tried to explain this to Ted Kennedy Jr. at a meet & greet (he was running for state senator in Connecticut) but he seemed more interested in trivial issues like the environment and mental heath. I voted for him anyhow (he won).
