SOS is written in Morse code on a paper tape next to a chemical telegraph machine.
We're seeing the machine in a mirror, which we know because the lettering beneath the radio knobs is backward. Because of that, we need to read a mirror image of the tape coming out of the machine. Doing so reveals the word TELEVISION.
Note: SOS reads the same with or without being a mirror image.
