I cut the board in two.
With one half see and one half saw,
I knew just what to do.
I paddled out astride the see,
with saw and saw aboard.
The scene this made to those on shore,
It seems, was not ignored.
They saw a sight at sea that day,
that filled them all with awe —
A sawer sitting on a see,
at sea with saw and saw.
