At the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament

This cartoon is dated January 9, 2003, presumably to use at that year's American Crossword Puzzle Tournament (ACPT) in Stamford, Connecticut. But it got filed away and forgotten ... until now, the first day of the 2016 ACPT.
