Hands Off

Here's an old piece of art from a college figure drawing class. It's a gesture drawing, done in just a few minutes using a stick of charcoal on a large sheet of newsprint.

I kind of like it, but it's also a good example of an artistic reality: hands and feet are hard to draw!

See how I mostly ignored the hands and conveniently ran out of room for the feet. Both require more attention, sometimes worthy of a drawing all by themselves, such as these: HANDS and FEET.

Also difficult to draw, although not on display here, are horse and goat legs, especially the backward-bending hind ones. No hands and feet there—they should be easy—but they're not.
